Grant
Making
The San Juan
Island Community Foundation provides grants and other support for
tax-exempt organizations for use on San Juan Island. As a grantmaker,
the Foundation ensures effective grants that meet donors' charitable
interests and address the community's changing needs.
The grant proposal deadline is June 15. After the Foundation has
reviewed proposals and allocated available funds generated by the
General Endowment, Donor Advisors will be invited to underwrite
proposals in their areas of interest. Awards are typically made in late
September.
Grants for specific capital expenditures and one-time, non-recurring
expenditures are given highest priority.
Grantees are expected to publicize receipt of the grant from the
Foundation, and are required to submit a summary report six months
after
the allocation of funds.
Grants will not be given to any religious organization where the funds
will be used in whole or part to further the organizations religious
purpose.
